我向剑桥英语辞典提交了单词 Loong

　　在剑桥英语辞典网站上有一个栏目：About New Words。任何人可以提交新词，剑桥辞典编辑不表达态度，而是放在网上让大家投票决定是不是放进剑桥辞典。我觉得这个方法很好。于是我提交了 loong。如果它被展示出来，希望大家都去投票支持收入辞典。

I recommend a new word loong.

Loong is the mythological creature in Chinese culture, it is called dragon mistakenly now.

Loong is not a devil. Most Chinses people think it is the symbol of luck and power, and of China and its culture. They call themselves as the descendants of Loong.

Loong is a transliteration according to its Chinese pronounciation.

The earlist record of loong I found can be traced back to the year of 1814, the book Elements of Chinese Grammar, written by English missionary Joshua Marshman. The useages of loong have not stopped from that time.

In Google books, with the key word loong, many more applications can be found, such as:

1882: The loong or dragon, as it is commonly translated, is to the Chinese nation all that the eagle is to us, and a great deal more. It is a mysterious, fabulous creature in many respects like the dragon of western fables, but far surpassing it. Not only supernatural, but almost divine qualities are attributed to it. ... (J.E. There are many persons and enterprises using the word loong representing the powerful and lucky mythological animal in their name or their products' brand in the precent days.

For example: Loongson (CPU chip), Wing Loong (UAV, unmanned aerial vehicle), LoongAir (airline), ten cargo ships: Ocean Loong, Power Loong, King Loong, Lucky Loong, Flying Loong, Charm Loong, Empero Loong, Orient Loong, June Loong, Tempo Loong; basketball teams Loong Lion and Shanxi Loong. It is easy to find them on internet with search engines.
